This is an extremley rare Rolex Day Date Ferrite Stone Dial. It has a 36mm 18K Yellow gold fluted bezel and an original ferrite stone dial. This rarity has become highly sought after by Rolex collectors today. This watch has a 18K solid yellow Gold President bracelet which has next to no stretch, finding one in this condition is extremly difficult. This watch is in mint condition as it has been cherished all its life. the bracelet is as straight as an arrow which is quite rare to find on a watch of this age. 
These Rolex Day Dates are highly sought after, this one is in mint condition and comes as a full set with official Rolex papers and service papers. This watch would make for a great investment as they are continuously rising in value.

This elegant reference 18238 from 1990 is adorned with a very original and unusual ferrite dial. Ferrite is a ceramic alloy with a surprising reflection, not dissimilar to meteorite, giving the dial a superbly graphic appearance. “A ferrite is a ceramic material made by mixing and firing large proportions of iron(III) oxide blended with small proportions of one or more additional metallic elements, such as barium, manganese, nickel, and zinc.”
The present example is fitted with Rolex’s calibre 3155, which features a double quickset function allowing for rapid adjustment of both the day and date. It remains well preserved after close to 30 years, making it a fine addition for any collector.

 

This Watch has undergone a thorough inspection of water resistance, accuracy, functionality and condition to determine the level of reconditioning required to meet our strict standards. It has also been referenced against technical documents and manufacturer records where available to ensure authenticity and a clean history.
